Instructor Biography - Beth Mynes
Beth is the CoFounder and Vice President / Director of Strategic Planning for Battle Run Tactical. She is an alumna from West Virginia State University and holds a Bachelors Degree in Business. Her relevant fields of expertise are in management and accounting.
Beth has been around guns since she was fifteen (15) years old. She has trained for many years since and has also been involved in defensive tactics for women. Beth got her second wind in 2010, after she attended a self defense class provided by FR&I, instructed by Steve Silverman. This class introduced quick draw from concealed holster, the four-point draw system, as well as other self-defense techniques. Mr. Silverman's training utilized known standards by numerous law enforcement qualification tests from all over the country. The training included disarming others, distracting an attacker, and avoidance of escalation. Beth did so well that she was encouraged to become an instructor.

Beth obtained the NRA Certified Pistol Instructor status in 2011 she had several people encouraging her to get certified to instruct/teach because they felt that there were a lot of women in West Virginia out there who would be more comfortable taking firearm classes from a woman instructor. Beth recently worked with NRA Training Counselor Jim Cozort and is working to gain additional NRA certifications.
In 2014 Beth has added several Instructor certifications to her resume through the NRA to include: Personal Protection of the Home Instructor and Refuse to be a Victim Instructor. Beth most recently became a State of West Virginia Certified Hunters Safety Volunteer Instructor.

Rifle Instructor - Appleseed
Beth became an Appleseed Instructor,and progressed to Instructor in training level (III). .Prior to becoming an Instructor, In 2009, Beth attended an Appleseed shoot (rwva.org). At her second Appleseed shoot, Beth became the first female in WV to obtain the "Rifleman Title", shooting a score of "234" out of "250"
